As those who have been reading this blog for a while know, my passion is global business. I love to travel and interact with different people from different places.  Everywhere I go (and I have lived, worked or traveled to over 70 countries), I truly enjoy observing distinct cultures and taking away lessons learned from each place and every culture I engage with.  In

Vienna

fact, a good deal of my life’s work is based on this very concept.

This summer, while attending Board Meetings in Vienna, I had the privilege of engaging with several colleagues – global executives and academic experts – to discuss some rather interesting views relating to the differences in business perspectives between Eastern Europe and the rest of the world.  It became interesting as the various views on doing business in different regions shifted… but today, Vienna:

Vienna is a beautiful city filled with exquisite buildings, powerful opera halls, sophisticated clothing and incredible art. The Viennese people themselves, without a doubt, embody “Culture” with a Capital C. From high art to street art, from music to theater, dance to interpretive movement, architecture to fashion – it’s all there…and it’s simply a way of life.

Winning

Slide1Are you one of those 100’s of thousand’s of “leaders” out there who are merely meeting your established goals and collecting a paycheck?  Isn’t there more to life? Shouldn’t you be seeking to maximize your own potential, walk in your own greatness, and WIN at the great game of business? It seems to me that there are actually many parities between great leadership and coaching the best professional athletes…

How would you feel knowing YOU make the impossible possible? Can you imagine the difference YOU could make if you were the best leader you could possibly be? What would it feel like to wake up every day energized by the idea of the amazing things YOU are achieving at work… and in life? To have a plan to overcome your biggest obstacles to create and deploy championship-defining strategies? To create your legacy as a game changer instead of just a game player? To know every day that YOU, yes YOU, are making a real and significant difference!

Well, here are some realities of what it takes to WIN as an exceptional leader, much the same as coaching a world-renowned sports team: Continue Reading…

Slide1In today’s demanding business environment (cost pressures, flatter organizations, more direct reports, “speed to market” as a competitive advantage, etc.) you have limited opportunity to devote time and energy to your own development. Most leaders struggle to meet all of the responsibilities of their positions and are too busy and too stressed to step back and learn from their experiences – or to implement changes that establish best practices. The one thing that is in no one’s best interest is for you, as a leader, to forsake your own learning and development – no matter what level you may be. In the current environment, Executive Coaching is one sure-fire way you can continue to develop your executive-level skills, as well as address your developmental and growth needs (which impacts the entire organization), while continuing to run your organization on a day to day basis. A Gift For The New Year

December 29, 2014 — Leave a comment

Hi – I hope you are all enjoying the holidays… and looking forward to the new year! Yes, it is that time of year again… we all need to start looking ahead and thinking about what we would like to accomplish next year.  Have you started thinking about next year and what you will accomplish? We all know traditional goal setting doesn’t work… and New Year’s Resolutions? Enough said! Did you know:

  • 70%  of organizational change initiatives FAIL
  • 83% of people have no set goals. While 14% have goals, they do not write them down. The remaining 3% who do write their goals are ten times more successful than the 14% with unwritten goals.
  • 92% of people FAIL to achieve their New Years resolutions, with more than 64% quitting before the end of the first month!

Because I have worked in the corporate world for so long, I have definitely seen more initiative fail and more people fail to meet their objectives than I care to think about. I tend to wonder… If people are not committed to achieving those goals that their paychecks depend on, what is happening in their personal lives? Many years ago, I developed a process to ensure that not only did I meet my goals and objectives (personal and professional alike), I could also help my employees to achieve success in their work… and in their lives.  Today, I use the same process with my clients around the world. My method has been proven over and over again and I would like to introduce you to a way to achieve success in every area of your life in a sustained, dependable way. Studies show, repeatedly, how valuable goal setting can be when it is actually followed through on. In fact, one thing all successful people have in common is that they set, follow through… and achieve the goals they set. I created this e-guide to help you discover a new way of thinking that will enable you to meet your goals and improve your life… in any area. Please take this opportunity to download this FREE e-guide that will help you to think about goal-setting in a new, more inclusive way. GoalsEGuide_Coverv2
